Description
This is an English translation of a Slovakian biography of Blessed Pavol Gojdich (1926-1960) who was murdered by police for his Greek Catholic faith. The book was written by Peter Sturak, translated by Martin Vavrak, and provides the background and historical situation of the Greek Catholic Church of Slovakia during it’s persecution in the 20th century. Bishop Pavol Peter Gojdič of the OSBM administered the Prešov Diocese at a time of dynamic changes in the international and domestic political situation, which required a great deal of courage, balance and bravery, as well as foresight and diplomacy. He conducted his entire conduct in the spirit of his episcopal motto: “God is love, let us love him!”
