Description
100 Golf courses that I’ve played from around the world.
From the Introduction by Jack Figel
In gathering my collections for Volume 9 of My Stories, I discovered one collection that deserves special attention and its own volume—golf courses.
When I was a younger man and traveling the world in the 1980s and 1990s, I carried my suitcase, briefcase (before the days of laptops), and my golf clubs almost everywhere.
As I played different courses, I tried to take two scorecards—one to record my score and the other to keep as a souvenir. I discovered I had put those souvenir cards into a photo album with plastic coverings that reserved them. Now, some 40 years later, I have organized them in this volume by geographic region of the world with about 10 courses in each.
There are several golfing “buddies” I should introduce first:
• Terry Warren
• Bill Gregory
• Jim Suska
• Elvin Monteleone
• Rick Bixler
• Gary Tuma
You will find their names scattered in the stories of my playing the courses you’ll read about in this volume.
